Tips On Periods. Bleh!

  Hey girls!

We all know that once a month, we all get our very much dreaded periods.  They can be HORRIBLE.  And most guys don't seem to get that.  Calling a girl weak can be one of a guy's biggest mistakes because I don't think they realize that not only do we have to deal with blood coming out of us but also the cramps, fatigue, nausea, bloating and most of all, WE HAVE TO GIVE BIRTH.

For some very fourtunate ladies out there, they don't get cramps and I envy them!  I get horrible cramps every single month.  Sometimes they are so bad that I don't go to school and just curl up in a ball.

I have a unique situation though.  My uterus in tilted meaning instead of it being straight up and down, the top of it tilts towards my back.  Therefore, I do not get cramps in my stomach but in my lower back.  It honestly feels like someone is trying to stab my back but isn't able to break the skin.

In the past I have tried Tylenol, Ibeprofen, hot rags etc.  For the most part, they did not work.  And recently I have found something not to completely relieve  the pain but to make it managable enough so that you can function.  My "Formula" for this is off the bat, take two midols followed by a big glass of water and put a heating pad on your cramping area (For myself my back) and relax for about 20-30 minutes.  Then, hopefully you can begin your day as normal with minimal cramping.

Try to repeat this process every 5-6 hours.  If you are too busy for a heating pad, you still will want to take the midol.

If you have free time, try to do some cardio.  Excersizes actually produces a hormone that produces good moods and endorfones.  Also, movement in your core area will help circulate the blood flow around your trouble areas.

I hope this works!  I know it can SUCK and can totally ruin your day/week.  RELAX, RELIEVE and HAVE AN AWSOME PERIOD.  Take back control.
